Anthrax's Scott Ian says the time is right to put out his official memoir.
The guitarist teamed up with journalist Jon Wiederhorn to write the new book dubbed I'm the Man, which is due out next fall. Ian says taking "forty-something years of stuff" out of his brain and putting it on the page seemed like a very therapeutic thing to do. Plus, he jokes that he's probably going to start forgetting "these killer stories" if he doesn't share them now.
But on a more serious note, Ian says he wanted to show people that if he was able to make the life he wanted happen, then anyone can. He promises to cover everything from his upbringing in a "dysfunctional home" to escaping into the "turbulent world of heavy metal."
