Tax Day Freebies: Your Go-To Guide For the Best Deals

The best tax day deals and freebies

It's that time of year again when we have to haul out the checkbook and give Uncle Sam his due. It's not pleasant, and generally not cheap - but taxes are literally the price we pay to live in a civilized society.

Of course, that being said, if your tax bill was higher than usual this year, perhaps these Tax Day deal from companies around the U.S. will help ease the pain a bit. Thankfully, loads of companies have stepped up to offer discounts on everything - from sandwiches to shredding services.

Office Depot/Office Max

Tax time means going through a lot of sensitive documents. If you have the need to dispose of some of that, the office supply chain stores will allow customers to come in with up to 5 lbs of documents until April 28th for shredding.

Sonic

Fast-food chain Sonic is offering half-priced cheeseburgers at participating locations on Tuesday. Naturally, tax is not included.

Bruegger's Bagels

A "Big Bagel Bundle" will only cost you $10.40 on Tuesday (get it? Like the 1040EZ form everyone is filling out?). That includes 13 bagels, and two tubs of cream cheese, a discount of $3.40. You can also take advantage of the bagel chain's offer of 20 percent off catering orders when ordering via the catering site.

Hooters

Children under 12 can get a free kids meal with the purchase of $10 or more from a tax-paying adult at participating locations nationwide.

Quiznos

The sandwich chain is here for you on Tax Day to give you a 10.40 percent discount on all orders. Customers who download the chain's loyalty app will also be eligible to receive a free four-inch sandwich.

Firehouse Subs

If Quiznos isn't your thing,  Firehouse Subs is offering customers a free medium sub if you buy a full priced medium or large sub, chips & a drink.

Boston Market

The Tax Day Meal at Boston Market includes a half-chicken individual meal with two sides, cornbread, and a regular fountain drink for $10.40.

Chuck E. Cheese

Chuck E. Cheese says they understand that tax day is a hectic time for families. That's why they're offering a deal that includes a buy one, get one free offer on cheese pizzas.

Planet Fitness

If you're still feeling tense after filling out all that paperwork, Planet Fitness is offering free massages courtesy of HydroMassage at any Planet Fitness location nationwide. This offer expires on Saturday.

Hot Dog on a Stick

The lemonade is always worth stopping for,  but they're also giving all customers one free turkey or veggie dog. The best part? No need to buy anything or prove that you did your taxes for this freebie.

Schlotzsky's

People can also stop by any participating Schlotzsky's for a free small Original, with purchase of chips and a medium drink.
