For years the frontman of Ghost kept his identity secret from fans and the media. Due to a lawsuit against him last year, we learned his name is Tobias Forge so that part of his secret was revealed. Now, Forge has given his first on-camera interview uncostumed for a French Television show, Quotidien .
On the show, Forge revealed that he was already working on a new studio album for 2020, and when he was asked why he decided to come on camera and do his first appearance on TV without the costume he said, “Throughout the years of touring with Ghost, I’ve never really felt 100% anonymous,” Forge said, “even though the characters in the band and the visual presentation has always overshadowed what I was and whatever I did. I felt very comfortable with that situation for many, many years. Then it just came to a point where so many people knew about it and there were so many pictures taken of me and there was so much exposure…if I was going to stick with the program that I set out before this band was even known when there were no inquiries about revealing anything…that will also put a limit on what I want to achieve. So I figure that I can do stuff like this once or twice.” (Consequence of Sound)
