Ozzy Osbourne Returns With First New Album In 10 Years, 'Ordinary Man'

2019 American Music Awards - Roaming Show And Backstage

Ozzy Osbourne has returned with his first album in a decade.

Last night (February 21), the Prince of Darkness unveiled his twelfth studio album, Ordinary Man. The album comes in light of an onslaught of serious ongoing medical concerns for the rocker, who suffered what he called “the worst year of his life” in 2019.

Despite the health hurdles he endured to complete his latest LP — which features appearances from the likes of Post Malone and Elton John — Ozzy maintains the project was a life-saver. “The album has saved my life,” he told the Daily Beast, reflecting on his condition. “Before I started work, I was just lying there thinking, ‘Poor old me.’ The album got me out of bed. Some days I’d do an hour or two, other days four or five. It was the best medicine I could have, because it stopped me thinking about how I might end up a cripple.”

The 11-track offering includes previously released records like “Under the Graveyard,” “Straight to Hell,” as well as the fan-favorite title track “Ordinary Man,” with added assistance from the Rocket Man himself. Listeners will also be charmed to know Posty not only appears on the loud anthem “It’s a Raid,” but additionally on bonus track “Take What You Want,” which includes added verses from Houston-born emcee Travis Scott.

Over the past 18 months, the musician has weathered a near-fatal staph infection, the flu and pneumonia, and a falling incident that has rendered him unable to commit to gigs. Sadly, even more misfortunes have befallen the star.

Last month, Ozzy revealed he’d been diagnosed with Stage 2 Parkinson’s disease. Due to rising medical concerns, the 71-year-old canceled his upcoming 2020 North American Tour as he continues to “recover from various health issues he has faced over the past year,” according to his representative.
