YUNGBLUD Covers Taylor Swift's 'Cardigan': Watch

Taylor Swift's latest album Folklore sees the pop star dabbling in indie rock, so it shouldn't come as too much of a surprise that YUNGBLUD chose to cover its lead single, "Cardigan," while visiting BBC Radio 1's Live Lounge; however, the alt-rocker put his own twist on the song by mashing it up with Avril Lavigne's "With You," and honestly, we can't stop listening to it.

"covered my favourite fookin girls @taylorswift n @avrillavigne for the @bbcradio1 live lounge!" the English rocker wrote on Instagram. He also performed his punk-inspired single "Strawberry Lipstick" and unsurprisingly nailed that too.

We apparently aren't the only ones floored by his interpretation of the song. Swift quickly took to Twitter to applaud YUNGBLUD on the cover.

"WELL this took my breath away and I’m honored to hear Cardigan intertwined with the wonderful @AvrilLavigne’s masterpiece ‘I’m with you’," she wrote. "Bravo and thanks @yungblud!!"

YUNGBLUD is gearing up to release his sophomore album, Weird!, on November 13 and has shared its title track and "god save me but don't drown me out" in addition to "Strawberry Lipstick." He's also plotting The Weird Times of Life digital tour, which will see the rocker playing full-production sets in a handful of cities across the globe, including Los Angeles, New York, and, of course, London, and livestreaming the concerts.

“One of my favorite things about touring is seeing you all [and] the fact that I can experience all your different cultures every night ,” he said in a video. “So I wanted to do as many cities as I could, bring a full-scale production, bring that rock and roll and bring it right to you in your living room because right now, it's pretty sh**!"
