Shia LaBeouf Seeking Inpatient Treatment, Axed From Olivia Wilde Film

Shia LaBeouf is reportedly working on himself amid his assault lawsuit from former flame FKA twigs.

Per Variety, the actor, 34, is seeking inpatient treatment and was allegedly axed from Olivia Wilde's upcoming film, Don’t Worry Darling, due to his behavior. Previous reports suggested he exited the film because of scheduling conflicts. "Shia needs help and he knows that," LaBeouf's attorney Shawn Holley told the industry news outlet. "We are actively seeking the kind of meaningful, intensive, long-term inpatient treatment that he desperately needs."

Variety went on to report that while the Wilde film had not begun shooting, "insiders close to the project say LaBeouf displayed poor behavior and his style clashed with the cast and crew." Ultimately, it was Wilde who fired him from the film. LaBeouf’s publicist and New Line declined to comment about his exit.

LaBeouf's attorney also chimed in during the article, defending his client on a larger scale. "This isn’t about Shia's career," Bryan Freedman said. “This is about making sure the trauma and pain inflicted on my clients and others doesn’t happen again. Shia is an admitted abuser and he needs to get meaningful help that addresses his violent behavior."

According to twigs’ lawsuit, LaBeouf hurts women. "He uses them. He abuses them, both physically and mentally. He is dangerous," the suit detailed. Responding to the filing in an e-mail to The New York Times, the actor said he was "not in any position to tell anyone how my behavior made them feel." "I have no excuses for my alcoholism or aggression, only rationalizations. I have been abusive to myself and everyone around me for years. I have a history of hurting the people closest to me," he continued. "I'm ashamed of that history and am sorry to those I hurt. There is nothing else I can really say."
