Suspect Arrested In Watson Chapel Jr. High Shooting

According to Police Chief Kelvin Sergeant of Pine Bluff PD, officers responded to Watson Chapel Junior High just before 10am to a report of a shooting. When officers arrived, they found a 15 year old male near the office who had suffered a gunshot wound.

The suspected shooter, a juvenile, was found behind a house near the school by the dog squad of the Arkansas Department of Corrections. This suspect is now awaiting charges at the Jack Jones Juvenile Justice System.

Chief Sergeant said in a statement that the decision should be made in the next 48 hours as to whether or not the suspect will be tried as a juvenile or an adult.

Police say that the shooting seemed targeted, but there is no known motive.
