Back in January, Dr. Anthony Fauci predicted that live music could return “some time in the fall of 2021," but only if 70-85% of the population is vaccinated to achieve herd immunity.
On Monday (March 22), The Offspring urged fans to get vaccinated by sharing a video on social media changing the iconic lyrics of "Come Out And Play (Keep 'Em Separated)" from "You gotta keep 'em separated" to "You gotta go get vaccinated."
"Hey Everybody! Dexter and Noodles checking in. You know, every time we get together, we talk about how we can’t wait to get out there and play shows again. And we hear from you guys all the time, letting us know that you can’t wait to go see concerts again too!" they captioned the clip on Instagram. "But let’s face it…. live shows aren't gonna happen until you go get vaccinated. So we thought we’d have a little fun with one of our old songs. Check it out!"
Last month, The Offspring officially announced their 10th studio album, Let The Bad Times Roll, after teasing new music for two years. They also shared its title track.
Let The Bad Times Roll is slated for an April 16 release and will be The Offspring's first new album since 2012's Days Go By.
