System Of A Down Announce Stadium Shows With All-Star Support

System of a Down may not be playing a massive amount of shows next year, but they're playing in massive venues and bringing massive special guests as support. On Monday (December 9), the band announced three North American stadium shows slated for next summer, and each date will be supported by a fellow rock icon.

The first show is happening August 28, 2025 at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey, with Korn playing direct support; next up is August 31 at Soldier Field in Chicago with Avenged Sevenfold; and the final concert is set to take place September 3 at Rogers Stadium in Toronto with Deftones. Polyphia and Wisp are slated to open all three shows.

The announcement comes after SOAD singer Serj Tankian divulged his disdain for long tours. “I love performing, but especially the long [tours]… I think when you do a long tour, it’s not just physically exhausting, but it’s artistically redundant after a while, repeating the same thing,” he confessed earlier this year. “That’s why we’re really enjoying doing these one-offs. They’re special events, special occasions. We can’t do them everywhere. We can’t do them all the time. But performing becomes fun again in a way.”

Over the summer, SOAD played a "once in a lifetime" one-off show with Deftones at San Francisco's Golden Gate Park. See a full list of tour dates below.
