Glen Campbell is in the late stages of Alzheimer's.
His wife Kim says he's lost most of language skills, but she tells Nashville's Tennessean, "He still has his essence."
Now living at a specialized care facility, Glen gets regular visits from his wife and children. Daughter Ashley, who accompanied Glen on his final tour, brings her guitar and plays for him.
Kim Campbell advocates for families affected by Alzheimer's. She references a song on Glen's album Ghost on the Canvas that opens with the words: "I know a place between life and death for you and me." She compares it to how one feels when a family has been affected by the disease.
Kim Campbell will share her journey at a free Alzheimer’s caregiver event on March 30th at the Brentwood Baptist Church in suburban Nashville.
