Japan has a chip shortage

Japan takes their potato chips very seriously and is well-known for developing some of the most creative flavors on the planet.

Unfortunately, they are now dealing with a massive potato chip shortage.

Because of weather disasters last year, their potato crops are so bad that major food companies have had to stop the production of 49 chip products – and have no idea when they’ll be able to fire up the factories again.

It’s so bad over there that people are posting pictures of empty chip aisles. (Mainichi)
