Jack White dipped into his past for his new album Boarding House Reach.
He tells Rolling Stone that one track, "Over and Over and Over," is something he wrote for The White Stripes to record 13 years ago. That version didn't work, so he tried again with The Raconteurs and wasn't happy with that attempt. And he wanted to try it a third time for his scrapped collaboration with rapper Jay-Z.
White jokes, "I was just gonna hand it off to my grandchildren. It was sort of my white whale. I chased it and chased it, and finally, all of a sudden, it worked.”
Boarding House Reach is due out March 23rd.
White released another track from the album yesterday (Friday). Check out "Corporation" on YouTube.
