Linkin Park's Mike Shinoda will release a new solo album in a week and a half.
Dropped Frames, Volume One was created with the help of his fans, who watched him create its songs in real time on the online streaming platform Twitch and were encouraged to give him feedback via live chat.
Shinoda explains that "a big part of the experience is the stream itself. When I start, I usually have very little idea of where it will go. What comes out is a product of the viewers’ suggestions, my spur-of-the-moment ideas, and whatever inexplicable magic is floating in between.”
Three cuts from the project are now released on YouTube, "Open Door," "Osiris" and "Super Galaxtica." The album comes out July 10th. (Spin)
